רב שאנן התחיל להדריך טיולים משנת 2007 כאשר הוא קבל את הרשיון ממסרד הטיירות בירושלים. הוא למד היסטוריה של עם ישראל בתואר ראשון ושני באונווירסיתות בישראל וקנדה. הוא גם קבל סמיכה מרב רבסקין, רב הראשי של אפרת. הוא ומשפחתו חזרו לטורונטו, עיר מולדתו אחרי 11 שנה בארץ. אחרי כמה שנים, הוא התחיל להדריך טיולים בטורונו ואונטאריו. האהבה שלו לטבע והסיטוריה עוזר לכל הטיולים איתו בין בערים או ביער. רב שאנן פגש את אשתו בירושלים ויש להם 3 ילדים: אריאלה -בת 10, תהילה - בת 8 ויונתן - בן 3. רב שאנן מלמד בבית ספר יהודי ומדריך טיולים בישראל וקנדה

Rav Shaanan grew up off of Bathurst Street in Toronto. He moved to Israel in 2002 and moved back to Toronto in 2012. Shaanan has spent most of his time in Israel studying in various schools. He graduated from Canadian and Israeli universities with a BA, B.Ed and MA in Jewish History and Education. He received rabbinical ordination from Yeshivat Hamivtar in Efrat and earned a tour guide license from the Israel Ministry of Tourism in 2007. In 2017, Shaanan began guiding in Toronto and in other beautiful sites in Ontario. His passion and knowledge in Jewish history and the great outdoors enhance all tours whether urban or out in nature. He is fluent in both English and Hebrew. Shaanan met his wife in Jerusalem and they got married in 2006 and currently have five children; Ariella, Tehilla, Yonatan, Daniel and Ezra. The Scherer family currently reside in Toronto, Canada. Rav Shaanan spends his summer and winter vacations guiding in Israel and teaches full time in a Jewish Day School during the rest of the year. He loves guiding groups both in Toronto and Israel. Since the Corona Pandemic, Rav Shaanan has been offering various virtual tours in addition to live ones.
